Counseling & Support Groups
The Center is an important gateway to services that many of us need as we age. We provide counseling, support groups and referrals to services like transportation and public benefit assistance.
Our professional staff social workers ensure our community’s most vulnerable seniors are safe, healthy and connected. Social workers are available on weekdays by phone and in-person with an appointment.
We also offer Westside Friends, an outreach program to connect older adults with ongoing companionship and practical help.

Social worker services include:
- Help applying for senior housing, Medicaid, utility discount programs and property tax reductions
- In-home support and outreach to vulnerable seniors
- Transportation help
- Family counseling and support related to aging
- Assistance with transitions to higher levels of care
- Referrals and follow-up with community agencies
Typical support groups include:
- Aging Well Group
- Diabetic Support Group
- Low Vision Group
- Parkinson’s Support Group
- Virtual Caregivers Support Group
Westside Friends includes:
- Matches you with a Center volunteer
- Provides ongoing companionship and practical help
- Errand running, grocery shopping, visits and more
