Meet Volunteer: Todd Sykes
We’re excited to shine a light on Todd Sykes, one of our most dedicated kitchen volunteers. Todd started volunteering with The Center nearly a year ago, rolling up his sleeves twice a week as one of our hard-working dishwashers. This plays an important role in ensuring that our Community Dining program adheres to food health and safety regulations by meticulously washing and sanitizing our service ware.
Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Todd moved to our state in 2016, first settling in Port Orchard before relocating to West Seattle in 2020. He enjoys lending a hand to his parents in Port Orchard and cherishes his time connecting with his sister. Todd’s passion for volunteering began several years ago when he began helping others acquire new computer skills, particularly in navigating the popular online selling platform eBay.
Besides his dedication to volunteering, Todd is a true movie enthusiast and has a particular fondness for woodworking, especially crafting small-scale model ships.
His fellow volunteers often describe him as a calm, friendly and steady presence in our kitchen, which can sometimes feel chaotic. All of us at The Center feel incredibly fortunate and proud to count Todd among our volunteers.
