Greetings from the Executive Director

I’m excited to share that we have more than 1,400 members as of this month—more than we’ve ever had in The Center’s history! And this holiday season there are so many great activities and programs taking place here. I hope you join us for some of our seasonal events and please bring your friends along.

One woman shared with me recently that she had been looking for a place to make friends, get exercise, learn new things and build a community. She picked The Center to be that place, and we’re happy to have her here.

Our board and staff are also continuing our strategic planning work with a retreat in November. We’re working on a plan to expand our hours and the ways we use our current building. We also hope to partner with other nonprofits to provide “pop up” programming in parts of the community that are underserved with programs for people ages 50+. With the ongoing challenge of rising costs, we also continue to evaluate our current revenue sources and identify new sources to support our operations. I’ll keep you posted as all of this work continues in 2025.

I also want to thank you for your support and understanding as we make an adjustment to our membership fees beginning in January. I will be signing up for my own Lifetime Membership at The Center before the end of this year. Join me in securing an amazing deal for a membership that you’ll never need to renew—before fees increase in January.

Happy holidays!
Amy Lee Derenthal
