It is the only filmed record of the historic 1972 National Black Political Convention, which was a turning point in the struggle for self-determination and equal rights. Convention participants included leaders from across the political spectrum and stars of stage and screen including Coretta Scott King, Bobby Seale, Harry Belafonte, Reverend Jesse Jackson and Betty Shabazz.
