Types of Gifts We Accept

We can help you explore these possibilities for setting up a legacy gift: 

  • Bequest in a will or trust 
  • Beneficiary designation in your IRA, commercial annuity or life insurance policy
  • IRA qualified charitable designation  

What is a Bequest?

Gifts in a will or trust are the most popular type of planned gift. They are a powerful way to leave a lasting legacy to The Center without affecting your current finances.  

A bequest is a gift made through your will or trust that allows you to support The Center’s future without affecting your finances today. It’s as simple as naming The Center for a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate, ensuring your legacy of community connection lives on. 

Here is some sample bequest language: 

“I give to the Senior Center of West Seattle, doing business as The Center for Active Living, of Seattle, Wash, federal tax ID #23-7155008, the sum of $____ or ____% for its general purposes.”
