We love to keep you informed of all the fun programs and activities happening at The Center for Active Living.
Happy New Year!
Happy 2025! And thank you to everyone who made a year-end donation to support The Center.
We appreciate all you are doing to make The Center a wonderful place for people 50+ to gather, learn and thrive. 2025 is going to be a great year, and we’re looking forward to seeing you here as you participate in our programs and services.
At our Board and Staff Retreat in November, we began the work of defining the tasks involved for our two major priorities for 2025-2026. One priority is to evaluate our current programming, expand our afternoon offerings and plan for the future needs of our members.
Our other priority is financial stability and identifying new sources of revenue to support program expansion. We’ll also begin early planning for a new Center entrance in the location where Snapdragon is now.
In sad news, I wanted to share that longtime member, donor and namesake for our computer lab Burke Dykes passed away in November. He spent 30+ years volunteering in our computer lab, serving on our Board and supporting the overall success of The Center. We will always remember how he livened up the room with his helpful nature and empathy for others.
Burke left The Center in his estate plan, which is an incredible gift to us. We will have a celebration for our Legacy Circle Donors later this year and a special recognition for Burke.
I hope to see you at Jazz Night or Margie’s Café soon!
