Celebrating Juneteenth & Pride Month

In June we will honor the Juneteenth holiday and celebrate Pride Month with the screenings of two excellent documentaries.

Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom
Thursday, June 18, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
In honor of Juneteenth, we’ll screen Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom. A black man is troubled by the legacy of American slavery and the misuse of Christianity to justify it. He travels throughout Texas and discovers how the Juneteenth holiday reveals the hope and courage that empowered the formerly enslaved and their descendants to fight for freedom in an unjust society.

Gen Silent
Wednesday, June 24, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
To celebrate Pride Month, join us for a showing of the film
Gen Silent. This groundbreaking documentary follows six older adults in the Boston area who grapple with the decision to conceal their LGBTQ+ identities or risk discrimination in care facilities where they are at heightened risk for elder abuse, neglect and exploitation.

RSVP at our front desk or 206-932-4044.
